Melanie is the Elementary Writing and Social Studies Coordinator in Simsbury, CT. Passionate about developing and empowering young writers, she has written three professional books with Corwin Press: Every Child Can Write: Entry Points, Bridges and Pathways for Striving Writers, The Responsive Writing Teacher: A Hands-on Guide to Child-Centered, Equitable Instruction  with Kelsey Sorum, and Answers to Your Biggest Questions About Teaching Elementary Writing (Corwin Press, 2022).

Stacey is a literacy consultant based in Pennsylvania. She is a certified literacy specialist who previously taught 4th and 5th grades in New York City and Central Falls, RI.  Stacey is the co-author of Jump Into Writing: A Workshop Approach(Zaner-Bloser, 2021) and has published three professional books with Stenhouse: Welcome to Writing Workshop: Engaging Today’s Students with a Model that Works (2019), Craft Moves: Lesson Sets for Teaching Writing with Mentor Texts (2016), and Day by Day: Refining Writing Workshop Through 180 Days of Reflective Practice (2010).
